The extension of the paternity leave from four to five weeks seems the story of never ending. It was supposed to take effect tomorrow, Tuesday, July 3, the day after the General Budgets were published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), but it will not be so.
Recall that the measures included in the PGE law become effective as of the day following its publication in BOE. Although they were finally approved on Thursday in Congress and were expected to be published today, the Government has decided to delay their publication until Wednesday, so that if nothing fails, deadlines are met the entry into force would be on Thursday, July 5. We will keep you informed.
Those who are about to be parents these days will be restless with the entry into force of the measure, because your baby is born earlier or delayed can make a difference so you can enjoy more days with him.

Hopefully the enlargement will finally be effective this week, a measure we have been waiting for since January 2018 when it supposedly should have been made effective and we already have more than six months late.
