Until February 28, at the San Juan Bautista Cultural Center in Madrid you can visit an exhibition workshop aimed at schoolchildren from 6 to 9 years old that will try to raise awareness about the importance of adequate food and physical activity necessary to prevent obesity, it's about Workshop Exhibition, Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Prevention.

The initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Health, the City Council of Madrid and the Food and Beverage Industry Foundation, it is an itinerant workshop that runs through different parts of the region, where through information panels and interactive games show the Children certain habits that are necessary to apply and the benefits they entail. Through four children's characters created for this purpose, Alcachofi, Bebo, Equilibrator and Athletic, children learn what a balanced and varied diet is, why it is necessary to make five meals a day or how the digestive system works among others. The initiative has been developed by various experts, educators, nutritionists and psychopedagogues.

Initiatives and the promotion of healthy habits are necessary if we want the next generations to grow up healthy and free from the problems of overweight and obesity. Disseminating good habits and eating behaviors should be a must for all institutions, but especially, it is the parents who can raise awareness and educate the children within the parameters of health.
