PlayStation Spain joins the Thyssen Museum to develop the educational video game Nubla

Sony Computer Entertainment Spain bet on young Spanish talent and has signed an agreement with the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum for the development of the video game Nubla. This alliance, which was presented a few days before the Madrid Games Week 2014, includes the collaboration with ESNE (University School of Design, Innovation and Technology of Madrid) and the study OZ Lane Games Collective, formed by professors who tutor students of the Grades of Graphic Design and Design and Development of Videogames of the school.

The project is part of the PlayStation First academic partnership program, which encourages university education through official development tools for PlayStation platforms. PlayStation First It is an initiative in which three Spanish universities are already attached: IT'S NE, the European University and the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Thanks to this program, students of these faculties have access to PlayStation (PS4 and PS3) and PlayStation Vita development kits and have the continuous supervision and advice of PlayStation Spain professionals in fundamental areas such as graphic arts, development, marketing and business for the development of new titles.

Rufino Ferreras is responsible for Educational Development of the Thyssen Museum (EducaThyssen) and explains that this alliance reinforces the commitment of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum with the use of technologies to disseminate its Collections within the framework of an educational project ”. Nubla will be a fun, enjoyable and enriching title for the youngest.

Nubla propose a adventure which begins in the rooms of the Thyssen museum, where players will meet a character, the only inhabitant of an imaginary universe that exists inside the paintings. Together with him, they will begin a journey that will take them to discover the fantastic world of Nubla, full of puzzles and forgotten places.

NublaIn addition to a game, it will be a interesting educational project that will put in dialogue art, technology and new narratives. In addition, PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) players will be able to use this platform to play Nubla when they visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, where they will enrich their experience through interaction with the facilities and the museum paintings, which will allow them to decipher new mysteries only available in the same enclosure. This will also encourage the visit to the museum and the interest of culture among the youngest who can thus enjoy the union of video games and culture.
