Would you stick a bow to the baby's head to "prove" that she is a girl?

Sometimes the obsession to make girls look like girls takes us to somewhat ridiculous extremes. It is clear that the face of a baby has special characteristics that make us adore them at first sight, but not that we differentiate whether it is a boy or a girl. So, you can go to the earrings, the rose, the ornaments in the hair ... to show (who?) that our baby is a girl.

Some time ago we saw a bizarre invention and, at least, disturbing, a headband that incorporated false hair for girls. And although the invention we are talking about today is not so impressive, it seems to me to reflect: Girlie Glue is a glue to place ornaments on girls' heads.

Katie Hydrick, from the United States, the creator of Girlie Glue, says she was tired that there was no way to place the ribbons, headbands and ornaments for her baby's head, since they did not hook well because they did not have enough hair, they fell ... What I wanted was "a feminine accessory" simple and comfortable. Finding nothing similar in the market, he thought about creating this natural glue and a lot of ornaments that could be attached to the baby's head.

The web welcomes us with the amazing slogan "It's never too early to be girlie!": "It's never too early to be a girl!". But is it that dads don't know? What must be demonstrated to the rest? Does it affect us so much if they ask us about the street if our baby is a boy or a girl?

I will not deny that the result of these ornaments is less shocking than that of seeing a baby with a wig, but the fact that parents insist on placing ornaments on the baby's head as if it were a "Mister Potato" type toy, I It seems absurd. Besides, that glue of partly unknown formula is suspicious to me ...

The glue of uncertain origin (but that could be any porridge)

On their website they point out that it is made of totally natural elements and therefore is harmless. The only ingredient they make known is of plant origin, agave nectar. And they point out that the product is 100% honey free. In his YouTube channel we can see several videos on how to place the ornaments and in one of them, one of the members, A small amount of Girlie Glue glue is put in the mouth!

I was quite surprised, because, on the one hand, without being an expert in advertising, I do not think that it is among the allowed to show the public to eat a product not intended for food (as if in an advertisement for children's waxes they saw a father taking a bite to prove that nothing happens).

On the other hand, it has given me what to think. Will those "natural products" from which the glue is made be something like cereal or fruit porridge, yogurt, jelly ...? Because without a doubt in our best moments of introduction of new foods, or with the Baby-led Weaning, some food has ended up in the baby's head (or ours!) Offering the same result: a sticky hair that could have been adhere any ornament.

On the website of Girlie Glue they point out that it is very easy to remove the bow or the "brooch" (there are also false earrings), simply by passing a damp cloth or washing with water. And for some other video that I have seen, especially if there is some hair on the baby's head, what you have to do is effectively remove the "stick" by washing it, as we would do to eliminate that stick of food in the hair.

Come on, if the girl is bothered by the adornment on the head and you can put it without her knowing, on a parakeet, with the glue (as seen in the videos, although I am surprised at the speed at which she remains subject ) What you can not avoid is to find out when you take it off, because we want it or not, you have to rub. I don't want to think too badly, but ... can you imagine a "rebellious" stick in which you finally have to cut a piece of the baby's little hair?

The glue is sold individually for about 6.5 euros at the exchange, while if we want a set that includes the glue and ornaments we will have it for between 10 and 12 euros. They also sell sets of ornaments (bows and flowers) and earrings. What do I say, if the parents wanted the girl to wear earrings they would have already made the holes in her ears. Or maybe if they didn't do it to damage it, they think it's better to pull the sticker (but every day?). What I hope is that these fake earrings are not used to simulate piercings on the baby's nose ... and I hope I haven't given ideas!

In short, babies are beautiful, whether they are boys or girls, they have those magical mofletudas characteristics that make us fall in love and if we want to disguise them, Carnival is already there for it. An effective trick to uncover unknowns before they ask us the question "Is it a boy or a girl?", That is to say his name (unless he has a unisex name, then we cannot avoid that question) as one who does not want the thing . Although surely, among the clothes that they will have given us, we will already have enough pink or blue garments that we can not waste ... And it is difficult to escape the trends that mark fashion and society in general!

But parents sometimes fall into ridiculous things like buying them older clothes, absurd shoes ... or stick a bow on their head with a sticky substance. And for what? We know that we have a girl, who is simply a baby, who has to grow up, without hurry, without perpetuating stereotypes, and appearances or what they will say little should matter if we do not want that to be what they worry when they grow up.
