Dad's role during breastfeeding

Breastfeeding requires a great effort and dedication from the mother, which will be much more bearable if the father understands the importance of breastfeeding for his child.

While breastfeeding is consolidated in the first weeks, the mother is exposed to exhaustion and the discomfort of the period (rising milk, some have tenderness and discomfort in the nipples) and need more than ever the support of her partner. The same happens when the mother returns to work.

Well, the results of a recently published study indicate that it is important that the father receives a minimum of education related to the problems that the mother of the infant can face while breastfeeding, as this could have a very positive influence on the success of the lactation. Most men, even when their children are breastfed, have a very low level of knowledge on the subject. So it is important that mothers from pregnancy involve their partner and try to inform together, of all aspects related to breastfeeding. Since the father is the ideal person to encourage the mother to continue breastfeeding, protect her and help her with the care of the baby.
