A healthy and delicious menu for New Year's Eve with children

Spending New Year's Eve with children is special, probably very different from how we spent time this last night of the year, but it will be unforgettable. Maybe you have not made the purchase for dinner tonight, and we propose some ideas for a healthy and delicious menu for New Year's Eve with children.

And is that one of the tips to spend a perfect New Year's Eve with the kids is to prepare a suitable menu. It is clear that this day we can make some "extras", but we do not have to fall into unhealthy dishes, or give up the taste.

Here we give you some economic and simple ideas to make a special dinner that both kids and adults can enjoy tonight, the last of the year.

Healthy snacks

As an appetizer we will choose different cheeses, with fine herbs, with nuts, spread ... They can be cut into small pieces and accompanied with seed breads, special rolls that we do not take any day. We discard fried or packaged snacks.

We can make some Santa Claus Minipizzas, or an idea that I loved are the ham and pate spirals.

If the child can already take seafood, which is a healthy food if consumed in its proper measure, it will be in a moderate amount and well boiled or grilled.

An alternative to seafood is surimi bars, but ultimately I would recommend that children eat what they like and do not take every day, so it will remain something special. We can even suppress these appetizers and put a good first course of salad.

Special salads

A special salad can replace the appetizer, even in it we can introduce the elements that we had put of starters: cheese, seafood, surimi, bread squares ...

A good salad as a first course And accompaniment is essential. Ideally seasoned with olive oil and just salt, and as a base a red lettuce, or endive, oak leaf, cherry tomatoes, avocado ... To these vegetables you can add fruits that combine very well in salad, such as orange, pomegranate, Pineapple or green apple.

If the child is older than two years and has no allergy to nuts, these are a delicious complement to salads: nuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts ...

If the child doesn't usually like salad, maybe the first course could be a vegetable cream, of pumpkin or zucchini, accompanied by croutons, with cheese or grated egg.

The main course (but scarce)

At this point the children may not have too much appetite, although they are sure that they want a small portion of their meat or their favorite fish accompanied with some light sauce. Rice or legumes are other less widespread options for this type of dinner, but they do not have to be excluded. Here you have some ideas of recipes for children from two years:

Fruit salad

For dessert nothing better than a delicious fruit salad. For this we will choose the seasonal fruits and those that are produced in our area since they will be cheaper, although if we can afford some extra you can add some more exotic fruit.

Persimmon, pomegranate, kiwi, banana, apple, pear ... small pieces (or if we prefer, placed in some fun way on a plate) all washed down with a natural orange juice. If the children are not going to stay until the time of the grapes, in the Macedonia they cannot be missing.

Sweets and grapes

We finished dinner with two elements, although of sweets we could do without. However, a small portion will not harm them. A simple and fun idea is a snowman ice cream, or reindeer cookies ...

The candy can be substituted for fruits such as grapes or prunes, accompanied by nuts if they have not been taken during dinner. Here you have a selection of simple desserts for Christmas.

Grapes for children They have to be prepared as they are used to taking them: peeled, broken, with or without seeds ... For young children, better grapes of a small variety.

We hope we have given ideas for tonight enjoy a healthy and delicious menu with children. Finally, remember that for children, water is the best accompaniment and with the whole party and the table so special they won't even remember to ask for another drink. Happy old night!
