The children's television channel Boing It also bets on mobility and launches a personalized tablet with exclusive content designed for kids. It is a fully customized tablet, from external appearance to user interfaces, with safe content for children. The usability and user experience they have been the most important elements when designing the Boing TV tablet and that is why a detailed analysis of the needs and expectations of the children was carried out. As a result of this study it was considered that the tablet should include:
- Access to exclusive content such as series videos, applications and games
- Watch videos without an Internet connection
- Content download portal, both videos and applications.
- Creation and management of users and permits, offering greater security for parents
- User interface customization (colors, background image, profile picture, etc.)
- Easy content update
The tablets have become a device that thanks to their small size and light weight can be placed anywhere to use them wherever we want and have children entertained on trips or long waits. To use it at home is a good option for parents to know that they are seeing their children and especially because they are a center of entertainment and learning thanks to the large number of applications available.
The characteristics of the tablet have been found on Amazon and indicate that it is a mid-range or low-end model. The screen is seven inch multitouch, with a 1.5 GHz dual core microprocessor and with 4 GB of memory that can be expanded to 32 GB using Micro SD cards. The S.O. is Android and connects to the internet using wifi. As we have mentioned, it includes loaded Boing TV episodes that can be played offline.
The tablet includes accessories such as a rubber protective case which also allows the tablet to be held vertically. A parental control system is also included to know which applications are running, downloaded or the usage time.
